The current iOS version is 9.3.3 On your devices there may be a badge or even a notice that you could update.
At some point, all devices will need to be updated to iOS 9 if they have not already. Many apps have made their updates to take advantage of iOS 9 features and we have some apps that will only run on iOS 9 devices. If your device has not been updated, please do so. It is expected that in the Fall the newest version of iOS will be released. It is our understanding that there will be some devices that will not be able to update to the newest iOS.

Kodable - This app introduces coding to young students. It is targeted towards students in K-2 grade level. There is a Kodable Learning Guide that includes resources and tips. (Free)
Hopscotch - This app teaches kids to code using simple, intuitive building blocks. Kids can create games, animations and other programs in this colorful, interactive environment. Ages 9 - 11. (Free)
Cargo-Bot - This is a puzzle game that challenges your brain and helps you learn programming concepts. Cargo-Bot is the first game programmed entirely on iPad® using Codea. It's a puzzle game where you teach a robot how to move crates. (Free)
Tynker - Tynker is a creative computing platform where kids have learned to program and build games, apps and more. Tynker offers self-paced online courses for children to learn coding at home, as well as an engaging programming curriculum for schools.
Lightbot Hour - Get kids hooked on coding within minutes! Lightbot is a programming puzzle game- a game whose game mechanics require using programming logic to solve levels. Simply guiding a robot to light up tiles and solve levels using commands, Lightbot cultivates a real understanding of procedures, loops, and conditionals.
